THE ESSENTIALS RULES OF HOCKEY INDOOR

To hold the stick.
 

 The stick for left-handed person does not exist. The stick is held with the left hand at the extremity and the right had at the medium more lower for the shootings.The left hand is driving, it is it which makes turn the stick for example for the reverse. It ensures ability.The right hand is placed more lower for the power in the shootings.An essential skill necessary for playing hockey is the ability to push, pass, control and shoot the ball with the hockey stick This is know as stick handling

In certain situations it is held with one hand but must never be let fall .

SOME FAULTS AND THEIR SANCTIONS.

OBSTRUCTION

The three golden rules..
  The ball must be pushed and not hated. the flat, left hand side of the stick.
  The ball must not be raised (except in the shootings circles.)
 The stick must not be raised above the shoulders

 
Sanctions
 A free push may be awarded for any player.
For a player making a fault in the shootings circle a penalty corner may be awarded.
No sanction for an attacker whose the stick is raised during a push or shoot in the shootings circle .

The ball must be not touched with the foot. SANCTION :A free push against the player who make the mistake.There is a corner or a free push since the line of 9 m if the faulty player is a defender in shooting circle.

The fault for direct obstruction :While progressing with the ball it is forbidden to obstruct its opponent in the conquest of this one placing its body between the ball and the adversary.SANCTION : A free push against the faulty player.A corner if it is about a defender in shooting circle.

The fault for remote obstruction: It is forbidden for a player to cut the line of progression of its partner carrying the ball in order to keep from to conquer this one.SANCTION : A free push against the faulty player. A corner if it is about a defender in shooting circle.

THE FREE PUSH AND THE PENALTY

  In the field of play , an any involuntary fault (To strike ball, to raise ball, obstruction) involve a free push, played from the place where this one was made.The players must be to 3 m of the shooter.This one cannot push the ball to himself. It can be directly carried out or passed to a partner and the ball must be never raised. .

However according to the place where the involuntary fault was made, for example far of goals, the sanction can be a free push.In this case left with the referees's appreciation, the ball can be carried out since the line of 9 m of shooting circle. In the field of play any voluntary fault can involved a corner or a penalty and temporary or permanently exclusion.

In the shooting circle, any voluntary fault involve a penalty carried out from the line of 7 m..During this action all the players are standing out of the shooting circle. After this one was been carried , the game is stopped.

THE SPECIAL RULES OF CORNER.

 

At the beginning the corner.

The end of the corner and the shoot..

 During the penalty corner ,the attackers are waiting at the top of the shooting circle to received the ball circle except their player who is on the line of corner at 6 m from goals.

The defenders are behind the back-line , at side of goals but at side opposed of the shooter of the penalty corner.

The choice of the side is left with the decision of the attackers. The ball is carried since a feature marked on the ground to 6 m. of the goal and on the back-line.

As soon as the whistle of the referee who addresses only to the shooter, the ball is played by this last. It is only when the ball is pushed by this one that all players, attackers and defenders, can enter in action in the shooting circle.

 

Before to pushed or to shoot to the goals the ball must be stopped in the shooting circle with the stick by the player who received it.. This one will be standing out of the shooting circle without any contact with the shooting circle.

CONDITIONS TO SCORE A GOAL.

There is no off-side in indoor hockey.

 -On a shooting carried out from the field of play, therefore out of the shooting circle, if the ball penetrates in the goals ...there is no goal.

 -On a shooting carried out from the field of play, therefore out of the shooting circle, if the ball touches the stick of an attacker being in the shooting circle and if the ball penetrates in the goals ...There is goal.

  -On a shooting carried out from the field of play, therefore out of the shooting circle, if the ball touches in this one a defender or the goalkeeper and penetrates in the goals...there is no goal.
Recall: - The ball must be pushed with the flat side of the stick.

- The ball can be raised during a shooting only by an attacker in the shooting circle but the ball must go towards the goals.

THE GOAL KEEPER.

The goalkeeper must always keep his stick in the hand. He can to push out the ball with the feet but however the ball must be no raised above the ground. In this case the sanction is a penalty ( play dangerous ). He can touched the ball with his body but if he immobilizes it while lying down above...there is penalty. He must push back the ball and not to hold it.
